- B. For Listing Partners (Earners): Full Name, Phone Number, and Bank Account Details (specifically for the disbursement of the Listing Bonus).
- C. For Landlords/Caretakers: Legal name, contact details, and property ownership/authority verification data.
- D. Verification Data: Physical media (photos/videos) of properties and caretaker contact details for the purpose of the Deep Inspection verification.
How We Use Your Information
Your data is used strictly for:
- Facilitating the “Handover” process between outgoing occupants and new renters.
- Processing the Listing Partner Bonus payouts once a transaction is finalized.
- Conducting Deep Inspection verification to prevent fraud and misrepresentation.
- Maintaining a secure Escrow transaction history via Niyhi Global Ventures.
- Complying with University student welfare standards and Nigerian Law.
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell personal data. We share information only in the following contexts:
- Payment Processors: Sharing details with secure gateways (e.g., Paystack) to process rent and payouts.
- Transactional Necessity: Sharing the renter’s name with the landlord only after a successful escrow payment is confirmed.
- Legal & Fraud Prevention: Disclosure to the Student Union (SU) authorities or Law Enforcement in verified cases of fraud or security threats.
User-Generated Content & Media
Users who upload room media (videos/photos) warrant they have the authority to represent the vacancy. HostelLink reserves the right to:
- Watermark and use media for marketing and verification.
- Remove content immediately upon a verified complaint by a legal property owner.
Data Retention
We retain booking and payout records for legal, audit, and anti-fraud purposes. While users may request account deletion, transaction records required for financial compliance under Nigerian law cannot be erased immediately.
